Bangladeshi young people renewed their pledges to the nation during a ceremony launched by the 31st BCS Cadre Association to mark the 50th anniversary of the Liberation War.
The event, which was held under the auspices of Dr. Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury, Speaker of the Bangladesh Parliament, also commemorated the historic Homecoming Day on January 10, 1972, of the Father of the Nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Journalist Mohssen el-Arishie, Managing-Editor of the Egyptian Gazette, was the special guest at this event, which was held at Bangladesh National Museum. The Egyptian Gazette’s journalist laid a wreath of flowers at the Mausoleum of Bhangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur-Rahman at the family burial ground in Faridpur district, 160 km from Dhaka.
In her speech, Dr. Shirin acknowledged Mohssen el-Arishie for writing the first book in Arabic “Hasina..Facts and Mythology” on the Bangladeshi people’s epic struggle under the leadership of the iconic freedom fighter Bangabandhu Sheikh Mubjibur-Rahman to break the Pakistani bondage of slavery and gain their independence and freedom.
The Speaker of the Bangladesh Parliament said that the author of “Hasina…Facts and Mythology” has invited Arab and Egyptian readers to explore unknown areas in the history of Bangladesh under Pakistani occupation, and great sacrifices the Bengali people had paid during the Liberation War. The book is translated to Bengali. Negotiations are underway with international publishing house to publish its English version.
Dr. Shirin also said that Mohssen el-Arishie introduces in his narrative special details in the lives of Sheikh Mujibur-Rahman and his daughter Sheikh Hasina, who received the mantle of leadership after the tragic death of her father and her entire family. The book “Hasina..Facts and Mythology” argues whether Sheikh Hasina was destined by a divine power to survive the mass murder against her family to help her bleeding nation rise on its feet proudly and strongly.
Assuming the powerful office of Prime Minister in the country, Sheikh Hasina refused to take the law into her hands to avenge herself on the assassins of her family and the perpetrators of the genocide against her people. The suspects, including the alleged masterminds, were brought before the court, which found them guilty. They were given death sentence and life imprisonment.
In an interview with the Egyptian Gazette, the BCS’s President Abdulla Al-Hadi said: “Encouraged by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the society’s members are committing their time, efforts and potentials to serving the interests of common people in Bangladesh.”
According to Mr. Al-Hadi, most of the BCS’s members are young talents and properly-qualified young people to pioneer the achievements of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s ambitions to secure their country the position it deserved on the world’s map.
“The BCS’s members are reflecting the image of New Bangladesh,” Al-Hadi said. “Our ambitions are unlimited and our potentials inexhaustible,” he declared. Al-Hadi is a celebrated poet in Bangladesh. He published a collection of 365 poems, which express the Bengali people’s pride and patriotism.
