World Environment Day (WED) is celebrated annually on 5 June and encourages awareness and action for the protection of the environment.

The United Nations (UN) named 5 June as international World Environment Day at the Stockholm Conference on the Human Environment in 1972. (the Stockholm Conference.)

First held in 1973, it has been a platform for raising awareness on environmental issues as marine pollution, overpopulation, global warming, sustainable development etc, and wildlife crime.

In Bangladesh, under the leadership of Sheikh Hasina, people are becoming more aware of protecting the environment and we are working in continuation of that.
