DHAKA, June 05, 2023 – The 31st BCS Cadre Association has carried out a tree plantation program at IMED, agargaon dhaka in the capital. On the occasion of World Environment Day, this program was arranged as part of a mass tree plantation at all levels of educational institutions and office premises across the country.

On Monday(June 5) morning, forest, fruit and medicinal trees were planted in front of the main administrative building of IMED.

At that time Mr. Satyajit Karmakar appreciates the Association’s work. He said, “A different and time-efficient decision has been taken by the association because you know that the mercury level now at Dhaka and other places. So we have to do more for minimizing the temperature. And planting trees can be one of the solutions to the problem.

Then Mr. Abul Kashem Md. Mohiuddin said, “Our future generations will be benefited from such types of efforts. And I think other batches will do their best by being motivated by the work. And he requested the members of the 31st BCS Cadre Association members to spread the movement across the country to ensure the SDGs goal.

Ahsan Habib Jitu, office secretary of the 31st BCS Cadre Association, said the program is aimed at increasing green forestry across the country. Last year, 6,100 trees were planted across the country, he added. Nazma Pervin, environment secretary of the Association, ensured that they would keep up their efforts every year.

Mrityunjay De Sajal, general secretary of the organization and ADC of DMP’s Tenjgaon zone, said, “Very little is being planted compared to the number of trees being cut down. This is our initiative in preventing natural disasters and expecting a beautiful environment. It is our hope that other people across the country will also be inspired by this and take care of the trees”.

This year, the 31st BCS Cadre Association plans to plant more than 10,000 trees as we are passing our 10 years journey in civil service, said its president Abdullah Al Hadi. “We have started this activity in response to the Prime Minister’s call for a fruit, forest and medicinal plantation,” he said. After planting the trees, the concerned officials will keep an eye on them for regular supervision” he added.

Internationally, this year marks the 50th anniversary of World Environment Day, which will focus on solutions to plastic pollution, using the hashtag and slogan #BeatPlasticPollution.
